How are adrenal tumors treated?
In some cases, adrenal tumors may not need immediate treatment, but you will need regular testing and imaging to monitor the tumor and its growth. Our team will consider all options and recommend the best course of action for your specific needs. Depending on the type of tumor and other factors, your treatment plan may include:
- Surgery - Our surgeons are internationally recognized for their work and will work with you to determine whether surgery to remove the tumor is needed. Our standard surgical approach is a posterior (through the back) endoscopic technique can result in minimal tissue damage and a faster recovery than other methods. We will talk to you about what surgical option might be best in your case.
- Hormone therapy - Hormone therapy can ensure proper levels of specific hormones to reduce symptoms and health risks.
A multidisciplinary team of cancer experts including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, plastic reconstructive surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, genetic counselors, medical geneticists, social workers, patient navigators and clinical trials staff meet weekly to discuss select complex cases and determine the best course of care.
